Information:

Who we are, what we do, why it will matter (probably):

This is the Front Range RF research initiative, the official name of my currently self-directed study of Electromagnetism and its applications, typically for the local Colorado Front Range area. But who am I?

My name is Matthew Smith, soon to be Matthew Bakker. I am a high school Sophomore at Colorado Springs School of Technology (CSST), and a Concurrent Enrollment student at the University of Colorado Colorado Springs (UCCS) for Electrical Engineering.

I have self-studied E-mag for over a year now, and I have been exploring radio-related concepts for my entire life. I have been fascinated by FM radio in particular and how radio waves propagate as a whole. I am also a HAM radio operator, currently holding a General Class license from the FCC and studying to upgrade to Amateur Class. More information can be found [Here]. In addition, I am also preparing to get my private pilot’s license, and I hope to eventually be an airline pilot. Nice to meet you!

-Fun fact, I speak Swedish, a little bit
